It was during the year of 1929 when a lone changeling calling himself Unit broke free of the Hedge, his metallic body dented and scratched. He found a few like him, hiding in fear and refused to join them, instead working for several labour unions and helping to raise Downtown Los Angeles to something splendid and glorious.
It was after ten years when he helped to build the foundation of a freehold in the city of Angels and Union Station was completed, the site where Unit escaped. Making several oaths, the Elemental built his freehold around the station where several trods resided, taking the approach that one should not live in fear with the Hedge but control and use it, a perfect member of the Autumn Court. After the freehold expanded and all the Courts were finally in place, Unit named his freehold Halo; the place that rests unseen upon the head of the city of Angels.
Yet things will never by quite right in a city that glamorizes the fake and unreal, and the sanity of the fae in Halo can take a beating from all sides. The pressure cooker that is L.A. can take the dreams of many and leave them cracked in the sidewalk, bleeding and drained. It can also raise someone to the dizzying heights of diva and champion. Both sides of the coin are fraught with danger, a razor’s edge that the lost are unfortunately drawn to.
This is the freehold of Halo, the place raised by Unit who now lies buried within the foundations of Union Station. It was designed as a bastion of hope and stability for the fae to gather and help each other through the trauma of their Durances. In these modern days though, Halo has reached a boiling point where some insignificant action could cause it all to explode.
